I was out the door at 3.18 this morning for an even earlier than usual run to see the falling stars that had been promised from 3.30 on. I did see a couple before I was out of town and another few later on in the polder. Nothing spectacular but it was interesting and fairly surreal to be out running in the dark. Glad I took my long neglected headlamp with me as there were bits under trees where it was truly pitchblack. Also spotted a couple of cat's eyes at one point. Real ones, attached to a live cat, which fair made me jump. There were also lots of not-falling stars and I had this song in my head some of the time.

Found this very fitting cd in the street-library when almost home.

Had a Paula Radclyffe moment this morning on the way back.  Luckily it was still only 6.30 and no-one came along the riverside cyclepath as I squatted in the reeds.  I suspect that the 2 bananas I had with me on the outward leg had something to do with it as I had almost the same thing happen on Wednesday morning.
