Good run, perfect weather, beat my last 10k PR by 18 seconds, despite (or perhaps because of...) being a bit hemmed in on the narrower paths on the first circuit when the route was busier with the 5k runners.  Amongst whom were Kim and Seth, who I met totally by accident before the start! It was their first race and they weren't even sure they would make it - but they did - I looked up their time afterwards as I didn't meet them in the crowds at the end - I'm sO proud of them! I did find Rianne at the end.

Had to leave the car for a couple of hours to get a new windscreen fitted so started off 4k up the road and ran on from there, further upriver that way than I usually go.  Through Waddinxveen and Boskoop and then back via the edge of Reeuwijk.  With a detour through a caravan park.

 Have just done some calculating and have worked out that if I can get my average pace down to 6:12 min/p/k I could beat my PR from Rotterdam in 1997.  Doesn't seem totally  impossible as I ran 6:21 average in Sneek in June and some of that was over softer ground and there was some fiddling with lights went on after sunset.  Maybe Brussel in October - won't enter in advance as I'll have to see how I feel after the Singelloop Half at the end of September but it is billed as a fast and good city marathon.
